Brihadeeswara Temple, India

Built-in 1010 by the proclaimed emperor Raja Raja Chola, this temple is known as The big temple locally owning to its gigantic size. The temple has one of the best architecture you can ever see in a temple. People often fall in love with both the serenity and the temperature of this place. The transportation of kumbam the single stoned structure on the top of the temple that weighs more than 70,000kg still remains a mystery. Dome of the Rock, Jerusalem

This 7th-century shrine is situated on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. The special purpose of this dome is that it was refurbished in the 1990s with more than 80kg of gold. The Dome is not just related to one religion as The Foundation Stone which is laid on the floor of the shrine is one of the holiest places for Judaism. According to Judaism, it was from where the world was created. Many biblical figures like Adam, Abraham, and Noah consider it to a site for sacrifices. As per Islam, this place was Muhammads final stop during the Night Journey from Mecca to Jerusalem.

Shwedagon Pagoda, Myanmar

Although believed to be 2500 years old, historians claim that this place was built around the 6th and 10th Centuries. As per the urban legend it was built by two brothers who met Lord Gautama Buddha and then constructed the structure in his name. a sense of divinity is infused as you enter the temple and this place is indeed one of the most serene places to worship. The temple is commonly also known as the Golden Pagoda because its the gold plates at the base of the stupa are genuine gold. Apart from this, the Crown's key features include 5,000 diamonds and 2,000 rubies, and the tip features a single 76-carat diamond. When asked about the structure a traveler from Boston said, The feeling of calm and peace traverse and embrace me. I could just sit there for hours, either to meditate, to admire the beauty of the pagoda or to think about nothing.

St Peters Basilica, The Vatican

One of the most popular tourist destinations of all time is the St. Peters Basilica in the Vatican. Even amidst the hustle bustle, this place retains its charm and divinity. Designed by the renowned architects Donato Bramante, Michelangelo Buonarroti and other famous Italian architects it is a worthy example of Renaissance architecture. The structure you currently see was completed in 1626 and is the tallest dome in the world with a height of 130m. Lotus Temple, India

It is not important that a place of worship needs to be ancient to be serene and beautiful and the perfect example of this lies in the form of Lotus temple. Built-in 1986 The Lotus Temple, a Bah' House of Worship located in New Delhi, the capital of India is one of the most enchanting places for praying. The temple earns its name due to the 27 blooming "petal" structures shaping the skyline. The temple is open to people of all faiths and has even surpassed the number of people that visit the Taj Mahal due to its calmness and divinity.
