The hot blowing winds of Rajasthan are famous all over India and the Mount Abu Summer Festival can be considered as an oasis in Rajasthan. Mount Abu is the only hill station in Rajasthan. Mount Abu summer Festival is the two-day celebration which is basically the feast of folk and classical music. Mount Abu Summer Festival includes folk dances, ballad songs and a thrilling boat race on the shimmering Nakki Lake. The festival also organizes many sports festivals that would conclude with fireworks. Travelers can enjoy Sham-E-Qawwali during the evening of Mount Abu Summer festival. Moatsu Festival

This festival is celebrated in the first week of May every year. It is celebrated from 1st May to 3rd May. This festival is exclusively celebrated in Chuchuyimlang village of Nagaland by Ao Naga tribe. The festival is the auspicious time which is considered to perfect for getting married. The Ao Nag tribe celebrated this colorful festival with lots of zeal. The special rice wine is prepared and served on a special occasion known as Sangat. The animals are specially reared and slaughter on the occasion of the Moatsu festival. This festival is marked as the end of the planting and harvest season. This festival is similar to that of the Baisakhi and Bihu festivals which are celebrated in other states of the country. This festival holds prominence among the locals. During this time people of Mo community dance and sing to celebrate the harvest season. A huge bonfire is lit and the Ao Naga community members enjoy and the special food is served. Dhungri Mela

This is another festival celebrated during May in India. The three-day festivity is celebrated to honor the birthday of goddess Hadimba. This is the main religious site for many rural areas located in Manali. Goddess Hadimba is said to be one of the consorts of mighty Bhima. Bhima is one of the Pandavas. Several villages take part in the celebration and the large fair is organized. The prime attraction includes shopping stalls, singing, dancing, and much more events. The most amazing among the performance is the local Kullu Natti dance performed by the professional. The giant procession is taken on this day which is worth watching. Thrissur Pooram

Thrissur is a city situated in the center of Kerala state, India. Thrissur Pooram is the largest temple festival of Kerala, celebrated in the month of May. It is celebrated according to the Malayalam calendar. Thrissur Poorams main attraction is the grand procession with 30 elephants, more than 250 musicians, locals and much more. The fireworks mark the end of the festival and they are worth watching. The special viewing areas are made to enjoy fireworks. This festival will give you a glimpse of the spiritual and cultural essence of Kerala. Drum concerts, firecrackers, cultural and folk program are the major attractions. Ooty Summer Festival

Ooty is one of the important summer destinations of Tamil Nadu. The month of May marks the end of tourism season in Tamil Nadu. So the Ooty Summer festival is organized by the locals which can be seen as a way of saying good-bye to the tourists. Top events include the vegetable show in Nehru Park of Kotagiri, Rose show in the Government rose garden of Ooty, Fruit show in Sims Park of Coonoor, Flower show at Ooty Botanical Garden and the Commercial Road will be filled with bazaars for shopping. International Flower Festival

This festival is celebrated in Gangtok in the month of May to create awareness about the flowers and plantation of the region. Many flower shows are conducted to display special species of gladioli, roses, orchids, alpine plant, trees, creepers, climbers and ferns. The most important thing to be noted here is delicacies made from these plants are also for sales like jam, jelly, and others. Villianur Temple Car Festival

Temple car festival is organized by the Pondicherry. Pondicherry is among the seven union territories of India. On the day of the occasion, Lord Thirukamemswara Kukilambal was taken out for the procession on a plush decorated chariot.
