Bungee Jumping Destinations in India

By admin.ngtraveller | Aug 03, 2018

For some of us, a vacation does not translate to lazing around on a beach all day. The adrenaline junkies out there want nothing more than a thrilling adventure- pushing their limits at every moment to view the world from a different angle. If you are one of those people and are looking for a dose of adventure and excitement, we have two words for you: bungee jumping.Almost everyone knows what bungee jumping is, but for the benefit of those who are new to the world of adventure sports, here is a quick explanation - it is one kind of sport where you are straddled in a harness and asked to jump off a very high place. The harness pulls you back a few hundred feet from the ground and you turn into a human bird for a while before reaching the ground safe and sound.Safe and sound? Really? While the prospect of free-falling from a height may be the stuff of nightmares for some, in reality, bungee jumping is an extremely safe sport. This is mainly because of the ton of safety gear you are made to wear even before the process begins. Add to that the highly trained individuals who guide you the entire time, and you have a safely exciting sport.Sounds interesting? We knew it would! So now that you're on board with the plan, here are some amazing locations in India where you can take part in bungee jumping exercises.

Jumpin Heights, Mohan Chatti, Rishikesh
Mohan Chatti is a village in Rishikesh and is famous for housing arguably the best spot for bungee jumping in the country. The highlight of this place is the unique fixed platform from where you make the jump. At a height of 83 meters, it is the highest bungee jumping spot in the country. At Rs 3000 per person, the price may seem a little high, but hey, you dont experience something like this every day. The spot is open throughout the year, but we would advise that you avoid the monsoon season because the platform tends to get slippery from the rain.
Della Adventures, Lonavla
Bollywood movies have popularized Lonavla for a number of reasons. But did you know that this hill station in Maharashtra is also a beautiful bungee jumping spot? Della Adventures in Lonavla is located at an elevation of 150 ft from sea level. The jump lasts around 7 to about 10 minutes, but the view itself is breathtaking. The best time to visit this place is between October and May. You will have excellent trainers at your disposal who will explain everything to you in detail and calm your frayed nerves.
Wanderlust, Delhi
If you need a reason to go to Wanderlust in Delhi, we'll give it to you: the entire staff of this place has received extensive training in Germany. The equipment and technology they use are also of German origin. So, if you're jumping for the first time, you can rest assured that you're in the hands of a team of experts.Wanderlust offers crane jumps from 150ft above the ground. So if you are an adrenaline junkie between the ages of 14 and 50, this is the right place for you.
Gravity Adventure Zone, Goa
We don't usually associate Goa with bungee jumping but don't let the pearly white beaches fool you, Goa is as much a place for adrenaline junkies as it is for the laidback. The Gravity Adventure Zone is located a few kilometres away from Anjuna beach. The permanent metal framework set up here is about 25 meters above the ground. You can choose this place for your first jump since the height is not that frightening. Also, the price is pretty affordable and comes to only Rs 500 per jump.
Ozone Adventures, Bangalore
This city has something forever body, even the ones who are on the hunt for adventure. Ozone in Bangalore is one of the most famous bungee jumping locations in India, mainly because unlike other locations, you do not jump from a fixed platform here. The equipment is attached to a mobile crane at a height of 130 ft above the ground. You make the jump from a height of about 80 feet.Because there is no fixed platform to fall back on, the minimum jumping age at Ozone is 18 years. This is also because many people consider jumping from moving cranes to be unsafe.Things to remember before you jump:Now that you have a destination planned (we hope), its important to go over some of the basic details you should keep in mind when you go for the jump. Most of these points will be reiterated to you by the support staffs present at your location, but were giving you this list so that you can prepare yourself beforehand:Plan your next vacation to any one of the places mentioned above, and take the leap of faith. You wont regret unleashing the child inside you.
