History

In 1963, the magnificent Namdroling Monastery was built in Bylakuppe. The legendary Lugsum Samdupling began building Bylakuppe in 1961. Later, DickyiLarsoe began working on it in 1969. Drubwang P.N. Rinpoche is credited for founding the monastery. The renowned Tibetan Golden Temple is home to more than 5,000 nuns and monks, is surprisingly the largest teacher of the ancient Buddhist descendants of the Nyingmapa art.

The celebration is well-attended thanks to the traditional lama dances and colorful arrangements.

The distance from Bengaluru and Mangalore, respectively, to the Golden Temple is 220 kilometers. The closest airport is in Mysore, 101 kilometers away. To go to the temple from Kushalnagar, you can hire an commercial bus or a cab.

Madikeri and Golden Temple, Coorg distance - The distance between Madikeri City and Golden Temple of Mysure is precisely 34.3 kilometers. Approximately, it will take 45 to 60 minutes to get there if you travel by vehicle or bicycle.

Golden Temple to Mysore is located 88 kilometers from the city center and is accessible from Mysore via the Hunsur road. From Mysore, it will take nearly two hours to get to Golden Temple of Coorg.

Places nearest to the Golden Temple in Coorg, you can see the Cauvery Nisargadhama (8.2 KM), Harangi Dam (15.7 KM), and Dubare Elephant Camp—all of which are near to the Golden Temple—in a single day.

The best way to go to the monastery, though, is to rent a private automobile from one of the top Coorg car rental companies, which will also allow you to see the Golden Temple without any fuss.
