The Government of India has amended the Government Guidelines for International Transport. The country has decided to do away with the at risk category. India has recommended a 14-day introspection of facilities instead of the previous 7-day home isolation rule. The new guidelines for international travelers will be effective from Monday, February 14.
However, according to the ministry, the situation should be monitored from time to time. The ministry has said that economic activities should continue. Passengers will have to upload an RT-PCR negative report, which should be received 72 hours before departure. In addition, travelers are required to upload a completed vaccination certificate and schedule.
Passengers will have to fill a self-declaration form on the Sveta website portal with travel date of up to 14 days.
The certificate confirms that the passenger has received both the vaccines with the option of uploading the RT-PCR report. This option is only available for travelers from 72 selected countries. The Government of India has approved vaccination programs for these countries.
Travelers should note that approximately 2% of international travelers take random samples to the airport. Passengers will have to give their samples and then they can leave the airport.
