The CEO added that Patnitop has for some time seen a large influx of tourists who indulged in a number of activities such as setting fires, cooking and dumping garbage or waste in the forest area.
A spokesperson for the officials, quoting the ban order, explained that such actions raise a lot of concerns and go further to create environmental risks, pollution and obstruction of corridors and banks, in addition to causing a lot of inconvenience and harming the reputation of the resort as well as the authority and the Department of Tourism.
The spokesperson also added that forest officers, PDAs and police officers have been asked to ensure that the order is strictly enforced in this tourist area.
Patnitop, which is located in the lower Himalayas near the Pir Panjal mountain range, 47 km from Udhampur and 112 km from Jammu, this popular mountain resort is located on a beautiful plateau and is located at an altitude of 2,024 meters through which the Jammu-Srinagar Highway passes.
