Village Dhordo is the center of this region. This was actually a salt dessert to which rarely anyone would have dared to visit. Even the residents over there did not visit the place much until it was developed as a tourists spot. The place is often described beautifully just because it shines marvelously in the moonlight and this is one of the unforgettable experiences for visitors.Around 10-12 years back it was supposed to be an awfully backward region. It all started after getting road connectivity to mainstream states. This festival was promoted by the Government of Gujarat through its Brand Ambassador- Eminent Actor Mr. Amithabh Bachchan. Visitors have to stay in tents as there are 400 tents available of varying capability and amenities, so one can be confident to find something that suits his/her budget and requirements. This festival also provides the opportunity to the artisans of Kutch, who are mostly Muslims, to display their talents in the form of handicrafts. Tourists can find here beautiful, embroidered bed sheets and different handbags, purses and clothing along with Kutchy jewelry. There are other skills too like Rabari embroidery, Rogan art and the distinctive mirror work in which artisans have proficiency. Wooden art may also be stunning to some creative souls. In Kutch, there is Narayan Sarovar or the Kera Shiv Temple, Sun Temple of Modhera, which may be a must-visit spot for the people. The place is endowed with a plethora of wildlife species, for instance, foxes, Indian wild asses etc. One can also get the chance to hear the musical chirping of birds at dusk if they are in or around the wildlife sanctuary. The whole credit of developing this place as a tourist spot goes to Modi Government when he was the Chief Minister for the State. The success of this bottom-up plan inspires other states to develop their extreme corners. Hence, pack your bags and have pleasant moments in this beautiful holiday destination during Rann Utsav 2018-19!
