Solo travelling has not yet become a popular option in our country and yet we know how much we would love to pack our bags and storm off that door leaving all our worries, hassles, dependencies and responsibilities behind! Just once in a while it is a good idea for women to leave their nest and go out and explore the world irrespective of their age, profession, financial stature or marital status. A few important things to keep in mind while travelling alone are- safety, proper communication with the locals, smooth commute and last but not the least, the courage to face any situation. There are many places in the country which welcome solo women travellers. Here is a list of them:

This state is teeming with pilgrims from all over the world. These places are great for exploration and offer a variety of things to see. If one is not that interested in temple hopping there is the option of going straight to Ooty! Situated in the middle of the Nilgiri mountain range, Ooty is often referred to as the Queen of hill stations. Solo travelling clubs and groups are emerging in every city and there are huge numbers of enthusiasts in the above-mentioned places to support it! In a few years time, perhaps this idea will gain more acceptance and popularity!
