Republic day is the national festival of India. Republic day 2019 in India will be celebrated on 26th of January, on Saturday. In 2019, India will celebrate its 70th Republic Day. First Republic Day of India was celebrated in 1950. A grand Republic Day Parade is held on 26 January to mark the importance of this occasion. On this day, the national holiday is declared by the Indian Government. It is held especially in the national capital, New Delhi in front of the Amar Jawan Jyoti to pay tribute and honor to the India soldiers for their sacrifices and zeal to give protection to every citizen of India. The Delhi Republic Day Parade takes place every year on 26 January at Rajpath New Delhi. This day marks India as a Republic Nation. The 26th January is the most remarkable day in Indian history as this was the day when Indian Constitution came into force. The Republic Day Parade will start from 9:30 AM and will continue for three hours. The prime attraction of Republic Day Parade will showcase the Indian culture and traditions. The defense capabilities and new war equipment will be showcased by the Indian Navy and Indian Army. Each program will be performed by 23 tableaux from various states and ministries. Republic Day Parade (2019) chief guest will be Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa, the fifth and current President of South Africa. He has been selected as a chief guest at Republic Day Parade 2019 will celebrate the theme of Gandhi. South Africa is closely associated with Mahatma Gandhi.

Route Of Republic Day Parade 2019

The Republic Day Parade takes places along Rajpath, in Delhi. The Republic Day Parade 2019 will cover the distance of five Kilometers that set out from Raisina Hill near Rashtrapati Bhavan (President's Palace) and follows Rajpath past India Gate and on to the Red Fort.

Prime Features of Republic Day Parade

1. Republic Day Parade 2019 will celebrate the Women Power on Rajpath. The Army Services Corps (ASC) will be led by a woman officer and the daredevil team will include a woman officer who will be performing the breathtaking stunts in the parade. Indian women are brave that will be showcased through these stunts. 2. This year is another remarkable year of Republic Day Parade 2019. This year India will witness the participation of all women contingent of Assam Rifles at Rajpath New Delhi. This contingent will be led by Major Khushboo Kanwar. So India is ready to celebrate Feminism for the first time at Rajpath New Delhi. 3. In Republic Day Parade 2019 it will be the first time that the artillery gun M777 A2 Ultra Light Howitzer and K9 Vajra-T would be included in the parade. M777 Howitzer has a range of 30 km and was inducted in the armed forces in November 2018. 4. This year, there would be around 17 tableaus from states and 6 from the ministries which will be showcasing their culture and traditions in the parade with the theme Gandhi. Ministries will exhibit the tableaus based on government schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Make in India etc. 5. Another prime attraction of Republic Day Parade 2019 will be Tableaus from Delhi and Andaman & Nicobar. 6. The next segment of prime attraction of Republic Day Parade 2019 will be Punjab tableau. They have been selected for the third time to perform on Republic Day. They will showcase the history of Jallianwala Bagh. 7. Rajputana Rifles, Madras Regiments, Sikh Regiments, and others will be among the regiments who will be participating in the Republic Day Parade 2019. 8. Around 600 children from various schools will also be part of the Republic Day Parade 2019. 9. Another prime attraction of Republic Day Parade 2019 will be Camel mounted contingent of BSF, where the camels will walk in sync mounted with armed soldiers. 10. The Republic Day celebration 2019 will also mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. 11. 17 tableaux from states/Union Territories and 6 from the ministries have been shortlisted this year to be the part of the Republic Day celebrations with the theme Gandhi. 12. The honorable delegates of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2019 will also be visiting Rajpath New Delhi on the occasion of Republic Day Parade 2019. 13. The Indian Air Force will be flying aircraft run by blended biofuel on the occasion of Republic Day Parade 2019. 14. National War Memorial near the India Gate, New Delhi will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the eve of Republic Day 2019 to honor the soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for the country since independence. 15. This year one of the contingents of IAF will march on the tune of an astronaut in the parade at Rajpath and the theme for the IAF tableau this year will be Indian Air Force: Safeguarding Indian Skies. 16. A most featured event in the Republic Day Parad of 2019 will be the Delhi government's float, which will depict the time spent by Mahatma Gandhi at Gandhi Smitri before his assassination there in 1948. 17. The rehearsals for the Republic Day Parade have been started and various contingents of the armed forces can be seen rehearsing at Rajpath in the morning every day. 18. Traffic management and security will be at its peak while Republic Day Parade 2019. 19. Flights have been canceled or the timings are subject to change from Delhi International Airport as Indian Navy is rehearsing for Republic Day Parade 2019.

The Republic Day Parade of India 2019 will have more than 25 marching and mounted contingents, around 20 military bands, various military vehicles, 30 cultural tableaux, approximately 30 aircraft, state wise cultural performers, 1200 school children, etc. Variety of regiments from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force with their different bands and official decorations take part in the march past. Commander-in-Chief of Indian Armed Forces becomes the President of India who takes the salute. Various para-military forces and other civil forces of India participate very actively in the republic day parade. The whole sight of parade becomes very attractive and entertaining especially because of the camel-mounted Border Security Force contingent (the only camel-mounted military force in the world). Republic Day Parade 2019, another participant will be Union Territories of India. They will depict their rich cultural heritage while moving on electric powdered small vehicles to ensure a decrease in the pollution level in New Delhi.

Republic Day 2019 Parade Tickets are available from 07th January to 25th January and from 27th January to 28th January for Beating Retreat ceremony at various locations and sales counters in Delhi.

Timings of Ticket Counter

The Republic Day Parade tickets can be obtained from the above ticket counters every day from 10: 00 AM to 12:30 AM and 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. It is vital to note that all tickets counter will be closed in the morning on 23 January 2019. Another important request is to please carry your Voter ID Card or Aadhar card or any Government issued identity proof in order to purchase the Republic Day Parade 2019 tickets.

Prices of Republic Day Parade Tickets 2019

Reserved Seats
To enjoy Republic Day Parade 2019 from reserved seats, an individual need to give INR-500 Per Person. They are available in limited number at ticket counters. As a certain number of tickets are only allocated for sale at each ticket counters. It is advisable to be in line from 8:00 AM only if you want to get reserved tickets from ticket counters. Only one reserved ticket are allowed to purchase per identity proof from ticket counters. Reserved seats are located near the main stage and visibility of all ceremony will be much clearer than other seats. These tickets are high in demand and less in supply.
Unreserved Seats
For unreserved seats, individuals will need to pay INR 100 per person for middle rows. They are easier to obtain than the reserved one. Only two tickets are allowed to purchase per identity card. For last rows, only INR 20 per person will be charged. They are easily available tickets at any ticket counters. But individuals will not get a clear view from last rows.

Tickets for Beating Retreat Ceremony

For enjoying beating retreat ceremony no reserved seats are there. All seats come under unreserved category and INR 50 per person and INR 20 per person will be charged.

How to reach the venue of Republic Day Parade 2019

On the occasion of Republic Day Parade 2019 the distance of 5 km that is from Vijay Chowk to Red Fort, traffic is prohibited. So in order to reach the venue (Rajpath Bhawan), the visitors will have to walk. Driving is not an option to reach the venue. The nearby Delhi Metro Stations will remain closed because of security issues. Special invitees for Republic Day Parade 2019 are requested to display the Park & Ride label on their vehicles to get the benefits of allocated parking near the Republic Day Parade 2019 venue. From Parking lots, shuttle services are provided for the visitors to reach the seating venue. All the entry gates will be closed before the beginning of National Anthem.
