Dubai is not only a major tourist attraction but it is also the fastest growing city in the world. Be it for leisure or work, a large number of tourists visit Dubai each year. It is a part of UAE and offers mind-blowing experiences to every visitor. In 2017, Dubai saw 15.8 million International visitors and India tops the list of maximum visitors traveling to Dubai. There were two million visitors to the UAE from India in 2017 itself. The International visitor's number grew 6.2 percent from 5 percent in 2016. If you are planning to visit Dubai, you should understand the norms for the visa. You need to choose from the different types of visas offered by UAE:
- Entry service permits visa: Individuals who are traveling to Dubai for work need to apply for this visa. Under this visa, you are entitled to stay in the country for a period of 14 days and your physical presence in UAE is very important to get the visa.
- Visit Visa: The visitor's visa is suitable for all purposes right from visiting relations to doing business in the country. It has a validity of two months and should be supported with relevant documents. Applicants need to have a sponsor in UAE to get the visa.
- Tourist Visa: This visa is similar to the visit visa but has a validity of 58 days and the duration of stay is limited to 30 days.
- Multiple entry visa: This visa is designed for those who spend a substantial amount of time in Dubai. It has a validity of 6 months and allows the individual to stay in the country for 30 days at a time. This visa can be applied for after entering the country on a visit visa.
- Transit Visa: Individuals who arrive at Dubai International Airport through a different destination need to apply for this visa. It is valid for 96 hours and can be availed if one is spending more than 8 hours in the country.
- Visa on arrival: The facility of visa on arrival is provided to citizens from specific countries from Western Europe and the Pacific Region. It has a validity of 60 days without extension.
- Passport: A valid passport which should not expire within three months of travel.
- Itinerary: Applicants need to provide information about their travel plans and flight details. Those applying for a transit visa should provide proof of onward travel.
- Residential Proof: If there is a difference between permanent residency status and the current nationality of the applicant, a residential proof is required.
- Income Proof: Bank statements for three months are necessary to determine whether the applicant has sufficient funds to visit the country.
- Photograph: Recent photograph is required with the application.
