India is a land of diversity and it has so much to offer to all those that have wanderlust or those that are keen to understand the varied traditions and cultures of India. Choosing ten things for our travelers is a difficult task as India has so much more to offer. One thing that you must ensure is to visit the best until your next trip, because no matter how many times you travel here, every time there is so much new to explore. From forts to temples to wildlife sanctuaries, to beach places and islands you have it all here.

Taj Mahal, Agra, Uttar Pradesh

The seventh wonder of the world, Taj Mahal is located in Agra and people from all across the world come to see the grace and beauty of the marble heritage- Taj Mahal. The white marble structure is one of the most magnificent structures the world has ever seen. Tourists from all over the world visit Taj Mahal every year and explore the market around here. You can shop around the city and enjoy your stay with the regional food cuisines of Agra. Things to do:Shopping of handicrafts and bangles. City Palace, Udaipur

This magnificent and beautiful structure if the citys largest palace and is Surmounted by balconies, towers and cupolas towering over the lake. It was built by Maharana Udai Singh II starting back in 1599. This structure is 244m long and 30.4m high. The palace has two entrances, one from the Badi Polat the northern end and theother at the Sheetla Mata Gateto the south. You can buy the tickets from any of the entrances. Even if you have a City Palace Museum ticket you must buy the ?30 City Palace entrance ticket to conveniently pass south throughChandra Chowk Gate, from the Crystal Gallery or Rameshwar Ghat towards the Lake Pichola boat rides. Inside Badi Pol, there are eight arches on the left that memorialize the eight times maharanas. There are a lot of other interesting things to discover here like the large tiger-catching cage inside the Place, which worked rather like an oversized mousetrap. Golden Temple, Amritsar, Punjab

The Golden Temple is made from Gold, specifically speaking the tomb of the temple are made from gold and is considered one of the most sacred places for the Sikhs. The temple is surrounded by a lake and it is considered auspicious to take a dip into the holy water if this lake. It is also a place where the worlds largest langar takes place every day and thousands of devotees eat at this langar (food given to all the devotees that visit the temple). Things to do- Visit the Jallianwala Bagh and shop the traditional Punjabi clothing and juttis (footwear).

Sun Temple, Konark

It is a breathtakingly and marvelously built temple that is conceived as the cosmic chariot of the sun god Surya and is located in Konark, Odisha. It has seven background horses (representing the days of the week) that move this stone leviathan on 24 stone cartwheels (representing the hours of the day) around the base. The temple was made in such a fashion that the dawn light illuminates thetemple sanctuarys interior and the presiding deity. Themain entrance is guarded by two stone lions crushing elephants and leads to the detailed and carveddancing hall. The structure also has an assembly hall. We advise you to have a guide along to take you carefully through this confusing structure and explaining the different stories that every place here has. Ganges, Haridwar, Uttarakhand

The most sacred river in India, the Ganges flows through Haridwar and is considered as the holiest city in the country with Lakhs of devotees visiting the city and its temples each year. It is also believed that a dip in the Ganges relieves you of all your sins. The evening Ganga Aarti is not something that you must miss; it fills you with so much positivity and removes all the ill thoughts from within you. There are several other places nearby that you can visit and enjoy the beautiful hill views and river flowing by its side. Things to do- Visit adjoining places like Rishikesh, Dehradun, Mussorie, Dhanaulti. Enjoy Camping, Paragliding.

Lachen, Sikkim

The land of the Sikkimese-Bhutia community, this picturesque mountain village is home to Lanchen pass. Lanchen is known for the beauty of its mountains and grass- clad slopes. It has snow capped mountains along with a cold yet bearable weather and the rivers flowing through the valley with different species of flowers present that make the valley look colorful and full of life. Amazing local cuisines with nature treks and local tradition makes this place a perfect holiday destination. It has so much to explore and enjoy. Gir National Park, Gujarat

The last safe place of the Asiatic lionis located about halfway between Veraval and Junagadh. Taking ajungle safari through the thick and dense forests is an adventure trip and you will be able to see some amazing wildlife creatures including the Asiatic Lion. The best time to visit is between December and April. The sanctuary has 37 other mammal species like the dainty chital (spotted deer), sambar (large deer), nilgais (large antelopes), chousinghas (four-horned antelopes), chinkaras (gazelles), crocodiles and rarely seen leopards. There are about 300 bird species that are also found here and most of them are residents. Things to do:Visit the adjoining places like the Sasan Gir National Park, Kankai Mata Temple, Jamjir Waterfall, Mahal Forest Ahwa, Kamleshwar Dam Junagadh

Digha, West Bengal

Popularly known as the Brighton of the East, Digha has trivial sand beaches that are a perfect beach spot in India. With the water waves washing your feet, it is has mesmerizing sunsets to enjoy with your partner. The unique casuarinas plantations along the coast, makes the scenic beauty of the place beyond imagination. Things to do:Visit the Shiva Temple, Kapal Kundala Temple, the Mandarmani Beach,Talsari, the Subarnarekha delta, Junput, and Amarabati Park, Marine aquarium in Digha, Visit Shankarpur, shop for shell jewellery and other beach items, enjoy sea food.

Leh Ladakh

Lakshadweep

This small group of islands located at the off coast of Kerala is also called the land of reefs. Fishing is very common during the month of October. This group of 36 islands is well known for its striking and sun-kissed beaches and lush green landscape.
