Galapagos Islands

Quito

The colorful capital of Ecuador is located in the north of the country at an altitude of 2,800 meters. After catching your breath and adjusting to the altitude, you can explore gems like El Centro Histórico with its impressive palaces and churches, or the huge Metropolitan Park.

The Chimborazo volcano is part of the legendary Andes mountain range and rises 6,268 meters above sea level. Chimborazo is not the highest mountain in the Andes, but its summit has the honorable position of being the furthest point from the center of the Earth.

The snowy summit of this dormant volcano is a popular destination for climbers, but keep in mind that both climbing in harsh alpine environments and wearing special mountaineering gear are part of the experience of conquering this giant.
