India's High Commissioner to Canada, Ajay Bisaria, recently met with a representative of Air India Toronto to resume international flights between India and Canada. Meanwhile, Canada has announced a relief for international travelers, with the exception of travelers from India. From August, fully vaccinated citizens and permanent residents of the United States can enter Canada without having to observe the mandatory quarantine period. The same rule also applies to workers with valid work permits, international students, and relatives of permanent residents.

Public Health Canada has already announced a significant number of travel easings from July 5, as part of the first phase of lifting restrictions. Meanwhile, travelers to Canada via connecting flights are still required to submit negative RT-PCR test results, which must be performed at the final point of departure before entering Canada.
