Good news for travellers in Jammu! Ropeway from Peerkho to Mahamaya

Damodar Ropeways and Infra Limited, Kolkata built this cable car. The cable car from peer kho to the Mahamaya Temple is 1.184 kilometers long and crosses the Tawai River, giving passengers a stunning view of the river and the temples on both ends of the riverbank. The cable car has a capacity of 400 people per hour and moves at a speed of 0-4 m/s. The cable car, with a height of 86.13 meters, will have 14 cabins with a removable monorail system. Ropeway from Peerkho to Mahamaya inaugurated will start soon

The Mahamaya Temple Cable Car from DRIL is the 'Atmanirbhar' vision come true in line with the Prime Minister's motto Made in India. Damodar Ropeways & Infra Ltd (DRIL) has built the largest number of ropeways and currently also has the maximum number of ropeways in operation and maintenance in India. Jammu Ropeway is designed by DRIL and 60% of their machines are made in India.

Aditya Chamaria, Managing Director of DRIL, said: “This cable car system is built with the latest technology that will add to the tourist attraction of Jammu. Cable cars are a pollution-free, safe and eco-friendly mode of transportation and will raise Jammu’s position as an eco-friendly tourist destination.” Good news for tourist as Ropeway from Peerkho to Mahamaya inaugurated will start.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Mr. S. K. Agarwal, Senior Vice President Projects, DRIL and Mr. Mirza Khurshid Beg, Assistant General Manager Projects.

DRIL was involved in the operation and maintenance of the famous Mata Vaishno Devi Cable Car from Bhavan to the Bhairon Temple in Jammu. Other recent projects include the 1.8 km Guwahati Cable Car across the mighty Brahmaputra River, and the 302 meter Passenger Cable Car at Chitrakot (MP), from the hill base to Hanumandhara Temple.
