IndiGo discount: What you need

To take advantage of IndiGo's discount offer, travelers will need to present a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This certificate must be presented at the airport check-in counter and at the boarding gate during boarding. The company added that people can also view their vaccination status on the Aarogya Setu mobile app during airport check-in counters and during boarding.

According to Sanjay Kumar, director of strategy and revenue at IndiGo, the airline believes it is its responsibility to contribute to the vaccination campaign taking place in India. Offering discounts to encourage people to get vaccinated can be a step toward a common goal.

The move comes at a time when India is battling the novel coronavirus and the possibility of a third wave of Covid-19 has heightened the urgency of vaccinating more and more people. Many airlines are also taking initiatives to vaccinate their employees and crew members. Earlier this month, Vistara announced that it is focusing on vaccinating all of its crew and airport staff as it makes its maiden flight with a fully vaccinated crew.
