Mahe Beach, Pondicherry

One of the most exotic beaches in Pondicherry, Mahe Beach is a secluded beach ideal for peace seekers and honeymooners. Located near the small fishing villages, this beach is famous for its unforgettable sunset and sunrise views. The serene beach of Mahe, lined with palm trees, gives you the opportunity to stroll and lie on the clean sand. Collect the shells and make your own memories.

Botanical Gardens, Pondicherry

Founded in 1826, with ornate French architecture, the Pondicherry Botanical Garden is spread over 22 acres, a treasure trove of more than 1,500 plant species (endangered and rare), and boasts many valuable properties. The park is divided into 28 plots of different themes.

A children's train, 6 fountains, a dancing fountain, a Japanese rock, and an aquarium with aquarium fish are the other attractions here. Don't forget to observe the colored birds.

Serenity Beach, Pondicherry

Just a 20-minute drive north of town, Serenity Beach exudes lush beauty and offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Surfing and swimming are popular activities here. The weekend market is another of the attractions of this beach.

French Quarter, Pondicherry

Pondicherry's French Quarter looks charming with its bright yellow buildings with white outlines. When you walk here, you transport yourself to another world. French-style villas, colorful red bougainvilleas, cobbled streets, a serene setting, it all transports you back to the time of French colonialism. You can definitely go for a heritage picnic here. Choose lunch at any hotel restaurant, hold a book in hand, or relax with a glass of beer.

Paradise Beach, Pondicherry

Paradise Beach is located about 8 km from the town of Chunnambar and can be reached by boat from the Chunnambar Resort. Relax on the soft sand of the beach that is a mixture of gold and silver. The turquoise water mix looks impressive. Due to the strong current in the deep sea, swimming is only allowed when the beaches are closed.

The place where the Chunnambar backwaters and the Bay of Bengal meet is also visible. The beach is also known as Plage Paradiso.

Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral

Also known as Samba Kovli, the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception is the mother church of the cathedral. In 1689, a Jesuit father visited the French colony of Pondicherry and decided to build a church next to the French fort. With the financial help of the King of France, the plan was implemented. Slowly and steadily, more churches were built and then this cathedral was built. This is one of the oldest and most important attractions in Pondicherry / Puducherry, which was also visited by Mother Teresa.
