Andaman and Nicobar Administration has announced that all tourist places in South Andaman district will soon be opened for tourism activities. However, visitors will have to follow the code, officials said. As announced earlier, the authorities have announced the resumption of sound and light screening at cellular jails, museums and NSCB Island for visitors.

Meanwhile, South Andaman District Judge Sunil Ngippaka, in an official order issued by the island's union territory, made several concessions under the guidance of a guide on politics, society, entertainment, sports, religion, culture and festivals. According to the report, all stadiums, parks, gyms, stadia and yoga institutions were allowed to reopen, but the night curfew was lifted without any interruption. As per reports, the order was implemented immediately and will remain in force till further notice.

In the second week of January, the Andaman and Nicobar Administration announced that it was shutting down all tourist destinations in view of the rising number of Omegaran cases. Last week, however, officials announced that tourist destinations would be reopened at 50% capacity and special working hours would be set aside for tourism activities.

At Port Blair's Veer Savarkar International Airport, all passengers above two years of age were partially and fully vaccinated and within 48 hours 19 official tests came back negative.

In addition, all travelers with 30 days foreign travel history, field and non-vaccinated passengers should be test to RT-PCR on arrival and kept in isolation till test results are available. Also, if someone is diagnosed with Covid-19 infection on arrival, they should follow the recommended isolation protocol.
