Good news for sky watchers! Rajasthan is the first state in India to start Night Sky Astro Tourism in all 33 districts! Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan alone, has four popular tourist destinations which include Jantar Mantar, Amar Fort, Maharaja Vishwavidyalaya and Jawahar Kala Kendra.

Mukta Sinha, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Rajasthan said: "Besides Rajasthan, Bikaner House in New Delhi has been selected as an astronomical tourism center and telescopes will be installed for the tourists to view the sky.

Speaking further about the incident, Quit-19 said that it was due to severe lockdown, people were locked in their homes and many interesting astronomical events were happening in the sky.

He focused on the visit and later said that he had conducted a star-observing session at the Secretariat and the officials were excited. It was then decided to release it to the public on January 21, 2021, which was very successful.

Soon, suggestions from far-flung district officials started pouring in and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Kejal accepted the idea. On March 3, the Chief Minister announced the launch of Night Sky Astro Tourism in all 33 districts of the state.
"Now we will get binoculars for all the districts and Bikaner House," Mukta said.

An important feature of the product is that it will be managed by Sky Calendar and Akash will act as a central guide for planning such events in Night Sky Astro Tourism.
