The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) has announced revised rules for all international tourists. The authority said in a statement that all tourist visa holders should now have Sri Lankan COVID-19 insurance cover, which can be purchased online or on arrival.

According to the report, tourist visa holders traveling to the island nation must have travel insurance of at least USD 50,000, which includes hospital insurance forCovid-19 treatment. CAASL says that travelers can buy policy insurance at www.portal.pionline.lk/covidinsurance. However, Sri Lankan passport holders are exempted from this requirement and do not require Covit-19 insurance when traveling to Sri Lanka.

According to Upul Dharmadasa, President, CAASL, there is no requirement to board a COVID-19 insurance flight. However, upon arrival in Sri Lanka, the tourist visa holder must obtain this policy before departure from the respective airport in Sri Lanka, if he does not have CoVID-19 insurance of at least US$50,000.

In another update, CAASL has announced that it will stop issuing Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) credit cards for travel to Sri Lanka due to the recent uptick for travelers from 31 countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Germany. is denying.
