Himachals Chamba warns of strict action against ill-behaved tourists
After Himachal Pradesh opened its borders, tourists flocked to this beautiful mountainous state from across the country, leading to overcrowding and a breakdown of COVID-19 security protocols. Many tourists were found flouting COVID protocols in different parts of the mountainous state. Given the situation, the Champa district administration has warned that strict measures will be taken against errant tourists.
Champa is famous for its beautiful destinations such as Khajjiar and Dalhousie. The deputy commissioner of Champa, in a surprise inspection of these towns, found the tourists not abiding by all security protocols. The administration warned tourists against misbehavior if they did not follow the common safety rules between the state and the center. The administration also distributed masks to tourists.
So far, the region has identified six tourist attractions for which warnings have been issued immediately. The state government is also ready to deploy additional police forces in Dalhousie to ensure tourists follow appropriate COVID behaviour.
New guidelines issued by the state government also require stakeholders to follow 'no mask, no service' rules and ensure social distancing. Strict action will be taken against violators.
Meanwhile, Himachal has recorded 93 new cases of COVID-19 virus and one death. According to reports, 12 cases were found in Shimla, 32 cases in Mandi, 13 in Champa, 22 in Kangra, 4 in Bilaspur, 3 in Hamirpur, 3 in Kullu, and 2 cases each in Una and Solan.
