International Yoga Festival starts in Rishikesh from March 7

Rishikesh organizes the International Yoga Festival, which was attended by nearly 400 participants on the first day.

In the morning session, yoga expert Kapil Sangvi conducted a well-enlightened and well-attended session about Pranayam (breathing control exercises), while Usha Mata conducted a session on Iyengar Yoga.

Rishikesh: The World Capital of Yoga!!

The seven-day International Yoga Festival will conclude on March 7th. The festival was inaugurated by Agriculture Minister Subodh Unial, Director of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP) Narendra Giri, and Patanjali President Yogpith Balkrishna in Rishikesh on Monday. The festival is jointly organized by Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) and Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB).



While addressing the crowd during the festival, Yonyal stated that they gathered here in Rishikesh, also known as Yognagari, to celebrate an ancient practice of yoga. He added that the goal of yoga is not only to maintain physical fitness but also to end negativity within humans. He added that Rishikesh is the home of yoga, and one can find yogis and yogis all over the world who have been trained here or are natives of Rishikesh.

"Yoga is the identity of Rishikesh and is a bridge spanning global boundaries and bringing people together, connecting them to our culture and roots along with their inner self,” Uniyal emphasized.
