Solo travelling has not yet become a popular option in our country and yet we know how much we would love to pack our bags and storm off that door leaving all our worries, hassles, dependencies and responsibilities behind! Just once in a while it is a good idea for women to leave their nest and go out and explore the world irrespective of their age, profession, financial stature or marital status. A few important things to keep in mind while travelling alone are- safety, proper communication with the locals, smooth commute and last but not the least, the courage to face any situation.   • Kerala- This is perhaps the best state to visit for any solo woman traveller. One can visit the famous Kovalam beach, Varkala beach, Munnara hill station or just sail through the calm serene backwaters at Allepey. There is scope for some exploration in the age-old forts, sight-seeing in the museums or some calm time in the lake city Udaipur.   • Sikkim- A hill station quietly nestled in the laps of the Eastern side of the Himalayas offers tranquility like no other place.
