Tourists can now enjoy paragliding, river rafting in Himachal Pradesh

In an effort to promote adventure tourism in Himachal Pradesh, authorities have permitted adventure activities such as paragliding and river rafting. Tourists who visit Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Chamba, and Shimla can enjoy these adventure activities as before at the new locations. This news was confirmed by Yunus, director of tourism and civil aviation.

Himachal's new plan, "Nai Raahein Nai Manzilein", has been launched to explore new possibilities for promoting adventure sports in unexplored territories. The government has established new paragliding sites in several regions. In Kullu, from Pandhara to Gadsa and Khargan to Nangabag and in Kangra, from Tang Narwana to Khirku.
In the Chamba region, from Darouta to Lahra (Khajjiar), and from Lahra to Darol and Raina to Nainikhad Jaeri, are newly discovered adventure sites. In the Mandi region, Prashar and Spenidhar are two paragliding sites. Shimla, Tikar, and Gonga to Chori are the recently reported locations.

River Rafting in Manali

Speaking about the new sites for water sports activities such as kayaking, the state's Director of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yunus, said that a new site on the Beas River has been notified from Nadaun to Dehra Bridge.

Not only that, the Ministry of Tourism together with the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (ABVIMAS) in Manali have decided to offer training courses for paragliders for the safety of tourists.

Some of the best paragliding spots in Himachal Pradesh include Bir-Billing and Chohla Indru Nag in Kangra district. In Kullu, tourists can try paragliding at Solang Nalah, Marhi, Talaiti-Talogi, and Majach-Shanag.
