If you chose the wrong area to live in, your dream of moving to London will turn into a nightmare. Crime exists in every country but it would be a nightmare if you chose to live in one of the most dangerous areas of London. Whether it is due to the inhabitants, social tension or the locals, there are some places in London which are extremely dangerous to reside in. You should avoid these areas if you are thinking of moving to London anytime soon.
  • Edmonton: North Edmonton has a high crime rate and certain areas are rife in crime which include Barbot Close, Edmonton Green Towers, Bounces Road estate, Shires estate and Osward Place. The housing is cheap in this area but the only area good place in this area is the north of Tottenham.
 
  • Harlesden: The South West borough of Brent, Harlesden has a bad reputation that is difficult to change. It has been associated with gun crime and is also called Londons equivalent of the Bronx on various occasions, it is also one of the most deprived areas of the UK.
  • Brixton: Brixton has a long time reputation of the bad boy of London and it has tried hard to redeem the same. While there were some improvements in certain areas, the whole areas has an undesirable image in general. It is known for infamous riots. Particular areas to avoid include Angel town estate, Myatts Field North and South estates, Somerleyton estate, Coldharbour road and loughborough Junction.
  • Hackney: Located in east London, the borough of Hackney is a place you might love or hate. It has a high crime rate and street gangs , however, those who live here cannot praise it enough. There are some nice areas but the ones to avoid include Holly Street estate, Lower Clapton Road, Fields estate, Pembury estate, Fellows Court, Well street and Kingshold estate.
  • Tottenham: Famous for the football team, Tottenham has a crime rate much higher than statistics suggest. Most crimes here go unreported as the chances of the culprits being found are practically zero. Areas like Tiverton estate, Broadwater Farm, Northumberland Park and Meridian Close are best avoided.
  • Peckham: Peckham was portrayed in the TV show Dellboy Trotter but in reality it is way different from the housing area depicted. Knife crime, gang and gun is rife here and North Peckham estate, Pelican estate, Lettsom estate and Oliver Goldsmith estate are best avoided areas.
  • Camden: Residents of Camden are fiercely proud about this area. It covers a larger area north of Westminster and the crime is high here. Most crimes of unreported here than in the neighbouring affluent area. Areas including Regents Park estate, Rowley Way, Somerstown and Gibleys Yard are best avoided.
 
  • Stockwell: Stockwell is in the borough of Lambeth which lies in the boundaries of inner south west London. It is an area known for crime and high rate of unemployment. The worst areas in Stockwell include Stockwell Gardens, Stockwell Park estate, Gaskell Street and Studley estate.
  • Kings Cross: Kings cross is a part of the Central London and is surrounded by the famous Railway station. It is described as a crime ridden area with a high rate of prostitution. It is one of the worst areas in London.
  • Clapham North: There are a couple of nice areas in Clapham but the same cannot be said about Clapham North. The housing is restricted to ex-authority blocks and is cheap but it is not the best area in London. You should not consider moving here with your family in any case.
