Delhi has new guidelines for domestic Travellers - NgTraveller
The Delhi government has put in place new guidelines for domestic travelers. The guidelines come at a time when fear of a third wave is rising. For international travelers, central government rules in the country will be followed.
The Delhi government guidelines target those entering Delhi from other states, including those with a positivity rate above 5% The plan is color coded and approved by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA). Divided into four levels, these color-coded groups are based on oxygen and bed occupancy, number of new cases or positivity rate.
The first level is yellow, the second is yellow, the third level is orange, while the fourth and higher level is red. The red level is more than five percent positive, or 16,000 new cases per week, or 3,000 oxygen bed occupancy. So for the domestic traveler, there may be three instances where you have to face travel restrictions.
The Red Level Alert will be implemented for travelers traveling to Delhi from those states and territories in the union that have a positivity rate of more than five percent. Restrictions will also apply to those arriving in Delhi by train, bus, air or road from those states with a positivity rate of more than 10 percent.
The restrictions will also apply to travelers entering Delhi from states or union territories that have a new outbreak of the virus.
Travelers belonging to any of the above categories must present a certificate of vaccination for both doses, or a negative Rt-PCR test must be a maximum of 72 hours. Travelers who cannot submit any of these tests will have to go through a 14-day quarantine period at a paid or corporate center.
