France Relaxes Travel Restrictions for Students From India

Indian students can now head to France to continue their studies, as the recent authorities lifted travel restrictions on arrivals from the South Asian country after confirming that a COVID-19 case had allowed it to take the step. France Relaxes Travel Restrictions for Students.

France's latest decision was confirmed by Michel Ferrari, press advisor at the French Embassy in Delhi.

Previously, it was reported that fully vaccinated Indian travelers would not be barred from entering France, as India was included in the French Yellow List, which includes countries at medium risk based on their epidemiological status.

The French authorities have indicated that only Indian passengers who have been vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the European Commission or the French National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products can benefit from the latest French decision.

People who took a dose of Janssen's vaccine 28 days before their flight or those who took a second dose of other licensed vaccines such as Pfizer/Comirnaty, Moderna, and AstraZeneca/Vaxzevria/Covishiel, seven days before their flight, are considered fully immune.

According to the French authorities, talented students and passport holders are included in the set of compelling reasons for traveling to the territory of France. Hence, vaccinated and unvaccinated Indian students can travel to France and submit their visa applications.

However, travelers will be required to provide evidence of vaccination status, evidence of no symptoms of COVID-19 infection and contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

Passengers who have not been vaccinated are required to submit a negative PCR test result 72 hours before departure, or a negative rapid antigen test result taken less than 48 hours before departure. Arrival in France.

All passengers showing symptoms of COVID-19 upon arrival in France will be required to follow quarantine rules, regardless of the place of departure.
