Himachal Pradesh or Uttarakhand,Which State is better for Holidays

Himachal Pradesh or Uttarakhand,Which State is better for Holidays

Both Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are part of the northern Himalayas, making it difficult for visitors and travelers to choose one. Although both states are beautiful in their own way, this article will give a little idea why Himachal Pradesh is chosen over Uttarakhand. We will give you the reasons why Himachal is different from other Himalayan states and why visiting Himachal will be worth your time and money.

Facilities

Himachal offers good facilities due to good governance and early development. Transportation is very convenient not only by road, but also by rail and air. Also, both regions are famous for their harsh weather conditions, so it is better to visit Himachal as the chances of natural disasters are less compared to Uttarakhand.

It is easily accessible since there are 3 airports:

Gajal Airport, Kangra District
Bhuntar Airport, Kullu District
Gabbati Airport, Shimla District

Also, if you are willing to go to Leh-Ladakh, you have an easy way out of Himachal. A road trip that starts in Manali, passes the top of Rohtang (which is often covered in snow and takes your spirit level to another level) and then passes through the Lahol region will take you directly to Leh-Ladakh. Your destination will be excellent for obvious reasons, but the journey through Himachal will turn out to be the unforgettable experience of a lifetime. You might miss out on this experience in Uttarakhand, so for me Himachal is and will always be better than Uttarakhand for the holidays.

Art and culture

Himachal is very diverse and has a very versatile culture. It is divided into two parts: the Upper Himachal and the Lower Himachal, in which you can get amazing glimpses of slightly different cultures. Himachal has 509 temples and is known as 'Devbhumi', which translates to 'Land of the Gods'. The famous Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery in Nagar Village, Kullu district is something you will definitely regret not visiting.

You can also easily see different religions like Hinduism, Sikhism, and Buddhism flourishing all over HP. This multicultural experience is unique. If you talk about the culture, it can be seen wonderfully in different dance forms as well like Naati, Luddi, etc. Naati played in Kullu also earned its place in the Guinness Book of Records for the largest number of people gathered in one place to perform their folk dance: naati.

The people of Himachal are very friendly and honest, which makes mixing with them easy and relaxing.

I think I have given you enough reason to believe that Himachal Pradesh is better for holidays than Uttarakhand and if you are still confused I have written some extra points.

Upper Himachal range

The upper HP group consists of regions mainly Lahaul Spiti, Kinnaur and Chamba. The Lahol and Knorr regions are influenced by Tibetan culture and share an international border with China. Chitkul is the last town in India and touches the Indo-Tibetan border. Buddhist pilgrimages among the snowy hills offer a once-in-a-lifetime enchanting experience that is definitely not to be missed.

Kinnaur - It is a beautiful place with very friendly people who believe in the simple life. This state has beautiful panoramic views that can make you want to pinch yourself because the beauty of these places is overwhelming and incredible. In Kinnaur, Sangla is the most beautiful place to visit and Manimahesh Kailash summit will bring you a more divine spiritual experience.

Lahaul Spiti - a beautiful region with the largest area and the smallest population due to harsh weather conditions, also called cold desert which has such a comforting contrast between Hinduism and Buddhism. In the town of Kaza, you can see many wonderful Buddhist monasteries.

An additional point for passengers is that you can experience driving on the most car-equipped roads found in India.

Champa - This area has its own distinctive features, the most famous of which is the place of Dalhousie, known for the history of the British there. In Chamba you can also visit the famous Minjjar mela (fair) which takes place in the land of Khajjiar every year.

The above things are some of the very rare things that will convince you that Himachal Pradesh must be a better choice than Uttarakhand for the holidays.

Homemade naturally extracted drinks

These are the naturally extracted wines that are only found in HP, namely Angoori, Moorie, Shuting, Lugdi, Rashi, etc. You have to try these drinks. These consist of grapes, apples and rice and are therefore completely natural and therefore beneficial to health and also increase the body's immunity against extreme cold. It is commonly used as a sacred drink in festivals and ceremonies throughout Himachal.

Trekking

Excursions !! How can we stop talking about it when we talk about Himachal Pradesh? Whether you are doing it for the first time or are a fan of trekking, Himachal offers a good variety of hills and mountains for everyone.

From the easy Indradhar hike (4,342m) to the moderate hike, the Chandartal hike (4950m) and also a challenge like the Bhara Bhangal hike (5,468m). Himachal has a lot to offer hikers so one can easily choose based on their viability and ability.

World heritage sites in HP

Shimla, popularly known as the Queen of the Hills, was the famous summer capital of the British. This place has completely different things to offer to other cities.

Only here you can enjoy a ride on the Kalka-Shimla toy train that covers 806 bridges, 103 tunnels and 18 stations. Also, we have a very old church, advanced studios, golf club, ice rink and many other unique things offered at HP that you will not find in Uttarakhand.

HP also allows you to experience the three unique paradises: -

Lipa - the sanctuary of Asrang
Raksham - Chitkul Reserve
Rubi - Bhaba Shrine
So I think if you are confused between Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, your first choice should always be Himachal Pradesh as it is much better than Uttarakhand.

International Festivals

In Himachal, each district has different fairs and festivals that you are likely to miss in Uttarakhand. Below is a list of world famous festivals and fairs that attract large numbers of international visitors.

Himachal hand-looms

Himachal is an Indian state famous for its handicrafts. So far, people cannot match the quality of fine wool clothing in any other Himalayan state.

Himachal has the best wool and has different types such as goat wool, rabbit wool (angora), yak wool, etc. Wool production in HP is higher compared to other states, so it also contributes to HP's economy.

The most famous brand of woolen shawls is Bhuttico, established in the Kullu district.

So for people who like art and beauty, Himachal Pradesh is a very good choice, where you can get a lot of handicraft products in a wide range like shawls, blouses, socks, gloves, jackets, sweaters, etc.

So in conclusion of all the above points, there is no way one can challenge the fact that exploring Himachal Pradesh first is a much better option if you don't visit both Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
