Shimla is located on seven hills.

This beautiful hill station is built on seven different hills which are Inverarm Hill, Bantony Hill, Inverarm Hill, Observatory Hill, Prospect Hill, Summer Hill and Jakhu Hill. The highest point in Shimla is Jakhu Hill.

Prospect Hill
Prospect Hill is west of Shimlas and on top is the Kamna Devi Temple.

Summer hill
The beautiful summer hill contains the campus of the University of Himachal Pradesh, and its elevation is about 2,100 meters above sea level.

Observatory Hill
Coming up the Ridge from Summer Hill, the next hill in line is Observatory Hill.

Inverarm Hill

Bantony Hill
Bantony is located in the center of Shimla, just before Scandal Point.

Jakhu hill
Jakhu Hill is the highest peak in Shimla. It offers beautiful views of nature. It also has the famous 'Jakhu Temple', the Jakhu Temple which is an ancient temple in Shimla dedicated to the Hindu deity Hanuman. Here every year a big Dussehra festival takes place, you can go to this temple by walking from the ridge or rent a horse, there are also taxis available here, there is a giant 108 foot statue of Hanuman at Jakhu temple overlooking the whole city. Believers say that the Jakhu temple bears the footprints of Lord Hanuman.

MTB Himalayas ,the biggest Biking race in south east Asia was hosted by Shimla.

The Himalaya MTB, an annual cycling race takes place in Himachal Pradesh. Started in 2005, the race covers almost 500km in a period of 8 days and is one of the toughest MTB races in the world, the race is sponsored by Hero Cycles India, the race starts in Shimla and ends in Shimla. It passes through the Shimla, Kullu and Mandi districts and is one of the most important facts about Shimla.

The Guinness Book of Railway Facts and Achievements recorded the "Kalka-Shimla Railway as the largest narrow gauge engineering in India".

Antique booksellers Maria Brothers.

Maria Brothers is an antique bookstore on Mall Road that has a unique collection of antique book treasures. Some of the books in the collection include the "Arya Ashta Sahasrikas Prajna Paramita" from the 16th to 17th century collection in Tibetan script, which is actually written in gold and silver ink. Paradise Lost and Paradise by John Milton has recovered 10 volumes of KathaSaritsagara and many precious books.

Chudail Boudi 

The "chudail baudi" is located between part of the Shimla Expressway from Navbahar to Chota Shimla. It is the place where your car decelerates automatically, no matter how fast you drive or how hard you are pressing the accelerator pedal.

BCS (Bishop Cotton School) is the oldest boarding school, founded on July 28, 1859 by Bishop George Edward Lynch Cotton, the school has produced many military officers, ambassadors, judges, ministers, and politicians.

Nathuram Godse trial in Peterhoff

Peterhoff was a building that housed no less than seven vice-kings and governor-general during the British rule. It was built in typical Tudor style - and all framed in wood. After the independence of India from the British Empire, the building served as the High Court of Punjab. It was in Peterhof that the trial of Naturam Godse, who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi in 1948-49, took place. In 1971, when Himachal Pradesh became a full-fledged state, Peterhof served as Raj Bhavan (governor's residence). The building was destroyed in a fire on the night of January 12, 1981, after which Raj Bhavan was transferred to the Barnes Courthouse. Peterhoff Hotel was rebuilt to a new design as a luxury hotel in 1991. It has 34 suites and is among the most interesting facts about Shimla.
