Here every year a big Dussehra festival takes place, you can go to this temple by walking from the ridge or rent a horse, there are also taxis available here, there is a giant 108 foot statue of Hanuman at Jakhu temple overlooking the whole city. Believers say that the Jakhu temple bears the footprints of Lord Hanuman.

BCS (Bishop Cotton School) is the oldest boarding school, founded on July 28, 1859 by Bishop George Edward Lynch Cotton, the school has produced many military officers, ambassadors, judges, ministers, and politicians.

Nathuram Godse trial in Peterhoff

Peterhoff was a building that housed no less than seven vice-kings and governor-general during the British rule. It was built in typical Tudor style - and all framed in wood. After the independence of India from the British Empire, the building served as the High Court of Punjab. It was in Peterhof that the trial of Naturam Godse, who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi in 1948-49, took place. In 1971, when Himachal Pradesh became a full-fledged state, Peterhof served as Raj Bhavan (governor's residence). The building was destroyed in a fire on the night of January 12, 1981, after which Raj Bhavan was transferred to the Barnes Courthouse. Peterhoff Hotel was rebuilt to a new design as a luxury hotel in 1991. It has 34 suites and is among the most interesting facts about Shimla.
