Uttarakhand CM announces Rs 200 crore package for 1.64 lakh people
Dehradun: With the Char Dham yatra starting yet for pilgrims this year, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dami on Wednesday announced a Rs 200 crore package for 1.64 thousand people connected to the annual Hajj and other sectors. Because of the Yatra's closure of worshipers, porters and other activities were almost paralyzed.
The state government will transfer funds directly to the bank account of people who work or do business in these sectors. Besides, an exemption from licensing fees will be granted for various commercial activities, CM Dami said, adding, "This package will help people working in the tourism sector and boost the country's economy."
Persons involved in various tourism business activities and registered with the departments will get financial assistance of Rs 2,000 per month for six months. Up to 5,000 people will benefit from this measure.
Under the Uttarakhand Tourist Travel Business Guides, financial assistance of Rs 10,000 will be provided to 655 registered tour and adventure operators. The river guides, 630 of them, will get 10,000 rupees.
93 registered boat operators on Lake Teri will receive 10,000 rupees.
Exemption from registration fees and license renewal will be provided at the Department of Tourism. It aims to benefit 600 authorized persons. While 301 registered airsports and kayaking service providers will be exempted from license renewal fees, 98 boat operators for the 2021-22 fiscal year on Lake Tehri.
Under the Ministry of Transport, financial assistance of Rs 2,000 per month for six months will be provided to 1.03 lakh drivers, operators and public service vehicle cleaning workers.
In addition, 549 registered boat operators of Naini, Nukuchiattal, Bhimtal, Sattal and Sadiyatal from the Nainital region will receive Rs 10,000. Under the Urban Development Department, 671 beneficiaries will receive a boat renewal fee waiver at Nene Lake for the period 2021-22.
An incentive of INR 2,000 per month will be given for cultural festivals for five months. The measure will benefit 6,500 people.
Refunds on trekking and peak charges will be provided under the Forestry Department.
While 329 beneficiaries will receive fee waiver for the period 2021-22 for vessel renewal in Naukuchiatal, Bhimtal, Sattal and Sadiyatal in the Nainital region.
The interest payment will be provided for six months on loan to Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Yojna and Deendayal Upadhyaya Scheme Homestay Scheme
